Skyla I'Lece is a SAG AFTRA Actress, Singer, Dancer, and Songwriter known for bringing an unbelievable and remarkably realistic flair to the set and to the stage! Her captivating personality and ability to bring dramatic or comedic scenes to life by owning it and with such ease is unprecedented in such a young actress. Her dramatizations will make you feel deeply; her comedic sense is sure to make you feel joyful on the inside. It is evident this teen demonstrates the passion and drive to successfully pursue her dreams and aspirations as a flourishing actress and singer.
Skyla I'lece first hit the acting main stage as part of Disney's The Little Mermaid (2014) and later in Disney's and Cameron Mackintosh's, Mary Poppins (2016). In 2017, she acquired her first lead role as Mary Lennox in The Secret Garden, becoming perhaps the First African American to be cast in this role for a professional production! Some of her other notable performances are Baby June in Gypsy; Duffy in Annie; Preacher’s Daughter in Bonnie & Clyde; the powerhouse vocalist Motor Mouth Maybelle in Hairspray Jr.; and multiple roles in The Adventures of Peter Rabbit and His Friends . Skyla was later cast as Paulina in School Girls; The African Mean Girls Play (2022).
She made her Television debut in the AMC series TURN: Washington's Spies. She has made guest appearances as Taylor (dance majorette) in the Starz series P-Valley, and starred in Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge. In 2021, she was cast as series regular in The Crossover, a TV drama series on Disney and Disney Plus in 2023!
Skyla I'lece is originally from North Carolina and now resides in Los Angeles. She takes ongoing dance training in Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop. She has worked with some of the top choreographers and acting coaches in the industry from California, to NC, to NYC continuously gaining knowledge and additional skill-set. As a singer, her vocal style is naturally unique and one to remember. As a scholar, she is an honors student. She plays both piano and guitar. As an athlete, she is trained in volleyball, tumbling, swimming, and horseback riding. Nonetheless, she remains authentic and humble which will make her that more unforgettable and legendary as an actress and performer.
